Education minister Ranoj Pegu earlier said that the results will be declared in a short notice.
Sources said many of the board’s officials were unaware of this till Monday evening.
Sarma, earlier said that the class 12 boards results will be declared within this week.
For the 3,42,869 candidates, who were registered to appear in the class 12 boards, this was the first board examination they faced. In 2021, they passed the Class 10 boards without appearing in the exam, which was cancelled by the state government due to Covid-19.
Last year, too, when the same batch of students were about to appear in the Class 11 examination, the exam was cancelled by AHSEC due to unprecedented floods and landslides that affected more than four lakh people in the state.
The AHSEC said this year, the maximum (2.72 lakh) candidates were registered to appear from the Arts stream, followed by 47,485 in Science and 20,907 in Commerce. From the vocational stream, only 1,948 candidates were registered to appear for the test.
The examination was held in 856 centres across the state in February-March.
