Fancy popping to your local Asda on the Early May bank holiday?

Whether you need to get in a big food shop, or just fancy nipping in to buy a few bits or treats, it’s a good idea to check the store is actually open – given that it’s a bank holiday Monday and all.

Is Asda open on the Early May bank holiday Monday?

Asda opening times on May 1 will vary depending on your location.

To find your nearest Asda’s exact opening times over the bank holiday, use the Asda store locator.

Simply input your postcode or town/city, select your nearest store, and look for the drop down menu called ‘holiday hours’ – there’s already a full list for all the bank holiday dates in May.

Generally speaking, you can expect your nearest Asda to be open over the Early May bank holiday.

Many places will be offering their usual Monday hours (opening times vary, but often closes at 8pm) – again, do check the store locator before you head out to be sure.

In London, many stores are offering the same Monday hours as usual, including:

  • Old Kent Road (7am to 8pm)
  • Clapham Junction (6am to 8pm)
  • Stepney Green (7am to 8pm)
  • Deptford (7am to 8pm)
  • Isle of Dogs (6am to 8pm)
  • Leyton Mills (7am to 8pm)
  • Lewisham (6am to 8pm).

In Scotland, Edinburgh’s three Asda stores are open 24 hours on bank holiday Monday.

Will Asda do online deliveries on the Early May bank holiday Monday?

While Asda did suspend its online grocery deliveries on Easter Sunday, that isn’t the case for the Early May bank holiday.

You can have groceries delivered as normal, if you secure a slot for May 1 in the usual way.
