Arsenal star ‘wanted by Barcelona on free’ with ace looking to rip up contract
BARCELONA could reportedly target Hector Bellerin if Sergino Dest leaves the club.
Bellerin is desperate for Arsenal to terminate his contract and let him leave for nothing.
The 27-year-old is keen on a return to Real Betis after spending last season on loan with his boyhood club.
But Barcelona are also keeping tabs on his situation.
Bellerin is a graduate of the esteemed Barca academy and is a potential target in the final weeks of the window, according to Spanish outlet Sport.
Boss Xavi is said to be prioritising signing a right-back before the transfer window slams shut.
And a move to Barcelona is a possibility with deals for Villarreal ace Juan Foyth and Borussia Dortmund star Thomas Meunier looking unlikely.
The debt-ridden club cannot afford Foyth’s £35million release clause, while the £12.7m Dortmund are demanding for Meunier is also deemed too much.
Bellerin on the other hand will be available for free if Arsenal grant his wish and rip up his £110,000-a-week contract.
Doing so would save the the club from paying a player who is not in Mikel Arteta’s plans a whopping £5.7m in wages.

Both Barca and Betis are struggling to balance their books and cannot afford to pay the Gunners a fee for Bellerin.
Bellerin has been linked with Barca before, and Sport claim a deal had been negotiated to sign Bellerin last year before boss at the time Ronald Koeman blocked the move.
However, it’s thought Barcelona signing a new right-back this summer is solely dependent on the future of American international Dest.
The club are reported to be open to selling him before the transfer window closes.
Manchester United have been credited with an interest in the £17m-rated ace, as well as Belgian international Meunier.
