Arsenal ‘reach total agreement on £105m Rice’ with West Ham ace set for medical

ARSENAL have finally agreed payment terms with West Ham over their stunning £105m deal for Declan Rice.

It is believed the Gunners have compromised during intense negotiations and will pay the up-front £100m in full by 2025, along with the £5m in bonuses – a record fee between two British clubs.

This means they now have the green light to sign the Hammers skipper.

Personal terms had already been agreed verbally weeks ago, and a medical will now be booked in the next 24 hours with an official announcement expected this weekend.

Arsenal originally wanted to stagger a section of the payment across a longer period while West Ham demanded the full amount within 18 months.

These minor payment issues had never been seen as derailing, but the Hammers were insistent on digging their heels in to get the deal they wanted.

Both Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta and Rice were desperate to get this over the line as quickly as possible.

Rice is already back from his holiday with the intention of securing his move as quickly as possible ahead of a packed pre-season with Arsenal in the States.

Arteta wants Rice fully integrated at before their opening game coming on July 20 against the MLS All-Stars.

Arsenal submitted their third offer for Rice last week, having previously had two offers rejected, including a then club-record £75m plus £15m in add-ons.

Rivals Manchester City also had an £80m plus £10m offer last week, only to surprisingly pull out of the pursuit a day later.

City were not willing to exceed their own evaluation of the player, and hesitant to surpass the £100m they forked out for Jack Grealish from Aston Villa in August 2021.

Arsenal have already confirmed the £65m arrival of Kai Havertz from Chelsea, and are close to securing a deal for Ajax defender Jurrien Timber for around £40m as well.
