Arsenal have four players Liverpool may accept in Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain swap transfer

Liverpool midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain could be set to return to Arsenal on loan according to reports. The 28-year-old departed north London for Anfield back in 2017 but has struggled to force his way into Jurgen Klopp’s side in recent seasons after suffering with injury problems.

The midfielder was ruled out for the first four months of last season with a knee injury and has only started four games since then.

He has fallen behind youngsters Harvey Elliott and Curtis Jones in the pecking order and is now thought to be keen for a fresh challenge.

Arsenal want to lure their former player back on a temporary deal, according to The Sun, with the option of making it permanent at the end of the season.

With Liverpool likely to demand a hefty fee for the player, Express Sport looks at four players Arsenal could offer the Reds in a potential swap deal.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

Arsenal captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was linked with a move away from the Emirates Stadium this summer and has endured a difficult start to the campaign.

The 32-year-old has only found the back of the net twice this season in the Premier League after a mediocre return of 10 last term.

A move to Liverpool could rejuvenate the Gabon international and allow Arsenal to cash in on a player who may well see his future away from north London anyway.

Liverpool create bags of chances and with Aubameyang in their team, they could well score even more goals.

Alexandre Lacazette

If Arsenal want to keep Aubameyang, they could try to strike a deal for Alexandre Lacazette, who is out of contract at the end of the season.

Lacazette has declared that he has no intention to sign a new deal at the Emirates Stadium so he could be the ideal candidate for a player exchange.

The 30-year-old could well add value to the Liverpool attack, especially at the business end of the season when the games come thick and fast.

Lacazette would likely have to settle for a place on the bench at Anfield at first but he’s another man who can put the ball in the back of the net if provided with decent service.

Bernd Leno

Unfortunately for Arsenal, they don’t possess too many defensive players who would be able to get close to breaking into the Liverpool team.

But the Reds may be willing to take Bernd Leno as their back-up keeper.

In Alisson, Liverpool have one of the best keepers in the world. But second-choice Adrian has looked shaky when called upon and is 34 years old.

Leno would provide a superior back-up option for Alisson than Caoimhin Kelleher. But whether Klopp would be able to persuade his compatriot to move to Merseyside to sit on the bench is an entirely different matter.
