Arsenal bottled Premier League! – David Isibor Ilford County
During the summer transfer window, we all know who Manchester City signed. Erling Braut Haaland. After showing promising signs at Dortmund and showing the world he is set to become one of the next greats of the sport. Manchester City swooped in and paid his ridiculously cheap release clause of around £51 million. A price that was most definitely worth it. Already, he has 48 goals in 42 appearances in all competitions and he doesn’t seem to be stopping. Already equalling the PL goalscoring record (32 goals), Haaland seems to be set on taking his team to a 3rd consecutive Premier league title (their 9th in total) and to a first Champions League title.
With this goal-machine upfront, Manchester City have a real chance of closing the gap on Arsenal. Recently, Arsenal’s run of form has nearly been as bad as Chelsea’s. Drawing their last 3 games, they have dropped a whopping 6 points that could be vital in a title race this close. Especially, when (at this moment in time) Manchester City have played only 30 games and Arsenal have played 32. And with only 5 points separating the 2 teams if Man City can win those 2 games they have in hand, it could be goodbye to the Premier League for Arsenal.
However, there is a lifeline. On Wednesday 26th April 2023, Arsenal play Manchester City at the famous, Etihad Stadium. Essentially, the Premier League Title decider. If Arsenal can win away from home against the mighty Manchester City, they would be 8 points clear, and the title would seem all but out of reach for the chasing Man City unless Arsenal was to lose all their remaining games. But with that scenario seeming unlikely, Arsenal’s PL hopes are still in their hands. But if they continue to play the way they played against Southampton, West Ham, and Liverpool. Then it seems Pep Guardiola will take Erling Haaland to his first PL title in his first season and make it Manchester City’s 3rd consecutive title. And with the form Manchester City have been recently it seems to be a humongous task Arsenal will face when heading to Etihad later this week. So, do you think Arsenal have bottled the Premier League or do they still have a chance to win England’s ultimate footballing prize?
