Army organizes workshop on establishment of ‘home stay by OYO’ in Poonch – Times of India

JAMMU: In an endeavour to make youth of area to learn about the processes involved in setting up home stays and to impart the skills related to homestay management, the Army organised a workshop at Surankote of district Poonch for establishment of home stays in collaboration with Jammu Kashmir Rural Livelihoods Mission (JKRLM) and OYO Group.
PRO Defence Jammu said, “The OYO team gave a detailed perspective on the tourism prospects of the region and contribution of home stays in boosting the footfall of tourists, while generating livelihood for the locals.”
“Representatives of JKRLM present during the workshop, further elaborated on the various tourism development initiatives undertaken by the J&K Government, he added. Army spokesperson said, “The workshop provided an insight to the audience about the existing infrastructure, aspects related to hospitality and requirements of tourism as a means of development of Poonch District.”
“The locals expressed gratitude towards the Indian Army, JKRLM and OYO team for educating them on the subject and were enthusiastic about including their homes for establishment of this venture, PRO Defence Jammu said.
