Armored Core VI Multiplayer Details Leak Early, More Gameplay Coming Tomorrow

Armored Core VI Fires of Rubicon launches in just a little over a month, and more information about the game is coming at fans fast and furious. Apparently, some folks in Japan have already glimpsed the game’s box art, which provides a few more details about the game’s mysterious multiplayer component.

FromSoftware have confirmed Armored Core VI will have PvP multiplayer, but beyond that, details have been scarce. Well, according to the leaked box art, Armored Core VI will offer online battles for up to six players. The game will also allow up to three spectators. The 6-player limit is arguably a step back for the series, as previous games allowed for more players (Armored Core V was 5v5, for instance) and some even featured co-op. That said, player count isn’t the be-all, end-all – if the game’s multiplayer is fun, that’s what matters.

In other Armored Core VI news, more gameplay is coming our way tomorrow (July 25). You can expect more coverage of the game from Wccftech as well.

Haven’t been keeping up with Armored Core VI? Here’s the game’s latest story trailer, and an official description of its world…

“A mysterious new substance was discovered on the remote planet, Rubicon 3. As an energy source, this substance was expected to dramatically advance humanity’s technological and communications capabilities. Instead, this substance caused a catastrophe that engulfed the planet and the surrounding stars in flames and storms, forming a Burning Star System.

Almost half a century later, the same substance resurfaced on Rubicon 3, a planet now contaminated and sealed off by the catastrophe. Extra-terrestrial corporations and resistance groups fight over control of the substance. The player infiltrates Rubicon as an mercenary and finds themself in a struggle over the substance with the corporations and other factions.”

Armored Core VI Fires of Rubicon hits on PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, and PS5 on August 25.
