Argos PS5 restock TODAY: PlayStation 5 stock countdown
News shared earlier today suggests that Argos will be dropping more PS5 stock in the UK.
As shared on social media, the Argos restock is expected to happen on October 27 and consist of thousands of next-gen consoles.
Gamers are being warned that the restock will happen in the morning and will likely suffer from a few technical glitches.
It has also been reported that these consoles have been distributed around the country, meaning that the stock drop could take a while to go live on local Argos stores.
There is also a reasonable chance that you might be able to buy a console if you go to a brick and mortar store.
The latest news was shared by the PS5 Stock UK tracker account on Twitter, which provides some of the best tips on the subject of where shipments are going to arrive next.
The full message shared on Twitter reads: “Argos has received shipments of PS5 Disc Editions.
“These have already been distributed into local stores over the past few days, and are ready for general sale to the public. Online & in-store drop set to be 27/10 at 8am.”
As mentioned above, the latest shipment will be limited to disc edition of the PS5, meaning they will cost more but come with a few added features.
for those wondering between which console to buy, here are the differences between the digital and disc PlayStation 5 consoles:
“The only difference between the PS5 console and the PS5 Digital Edition console is the inclusion of an Ultra HD Blu-ray disc drive in the PS5 console. The PS5 Digital Edition console does not feature a disc drive.
“The PS5 console features an Ultra HD Blu-ray disc drive that will allow you to play PS5 Blu-ray disc games and PS4 Blu-ray disc games, as well as play video from 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray Discs, standard Blu-ray discs, and DVDs.
“The PS5 Digital Edition console does not have an Ultra HD Blu-ray disc drive. PS5 Digital Edition console owners will be able to buy PS5 and PS4 games from PlayStation Store or access games via PlayStation Plus and PlayStation Now.”
Having an idea of when a next-gen restock is happening can be vital, but it’s also worth knowing how each retailer handles its shipments.
And here are a few examples of how best to try and buy a console from leading UK retailers:
ARGOS: The Argos website is notorious for crashing and being unable to complete purchases when site traffic is high. Stock trackers suggest using the mobile Argos app and keeping an eye on local store listings.
AMAZON UK: Amazon UK runs better under strain but still comes with a few kinks worth mentioning. Having an account set up with your card details is a good start, and gamers should also try adding a console to their wishlist before checking out.
GAME: GAME is a UK retailer that offers the most regular stock updates for next-gen consoles. However, console hunters have been warned to use Guest Checkout, as this option is less likely to crash when completing a purchase. The next PS5 stock update is expected to happen on October 28.
