Apple reveals new AR headset Vision Pro that blends real world with digital
APPLE has revealed a new augmented reality headset that’s the first of its kind from the tech giant.
The headset looks set to take on Mark Zuckerberg’s VR offerings but claims to blend the real world with the digital.
You can control the headset with your head, hands, and voice.
Apple showed off a reel that shows headset users watching a giant virtual screen in their living room – with the display completely rendered by the headset.
There’s also a cinema environment feature and the ability to make the screen feel like it’s larger than the room you’re in.
Apple chief Tim Cook said that the headset would usher in a new era of “spatial computing.”
The company said the headset displays your eyes when people are nearby.
This makes it stand out from other headsets that separate you from reality.
If someone is nearby they will appear in the user’s view.
Apple said this is “transforming what’s possible” and described it as “magical.”

The tech giant says the headset lets you multitask with ease.
There have been rumors that Apple’s latest product could replace the iPhone and it does work a lot like the beloved gadget but it’s held over your eyes rather than in your hands.
You can even bring your Mac computer screen into Vision Pro – just by looking at it.
Apple said it’s perfect for use in the office.
The headset will also let you FaceTime and view people as if they’re in the room.
Vision Pro also lets you view photos in a new way.
You’ll be able to make images feel as big as the room.
Panoramic images can wrap around you and make you feel like you’re back in the place you took it.
Vision Pro is also Apple’s first 3D camera.
Spatial videos and photos aim to make you feel like you’re entering back into a memory with special depth perception.
Apple clearly wants you to spend time enjoying a variety of media in Vision Pro.
Top boss Tim Cook said Vision Pro will “change the way we communicate, collaborate, work and enjoy entertainment.”
Apple says the Vision Pro is the most advanced personal device ever.
It assured users that privacy was also kept in mind and said that “where you look stays private.”
Apple says individual apps don’t need to see your surroundings and promises world-class security for users.
The Vision Pro is priced at $3,499 and it won’t be available until early 2024.
