Apple just slashed MacBook Air prices to new low as big new laptop revealed

Now could be a very good time to invest in a new MacBook with Apple slashing the price of its popular 13-inch Air and adding a bigger model to the lineup. First up let’s talk about that cost cut with the M2-powered Air, which was released last year, now reduced by £100. That means laptop fans can pick up this slimline device for just £1,149 at the Apple Store or head to other shops for an even bigger discount. For example, John Lewis has the Air for just £1,119 – that’s over £120 less than the launch price!

As a quick reminder, the MacBook Air gets that impressive performance, long battery life and a striking aluminium design. There’s also MagSafe charging, long 18-hour battery life, two USB-C ports and a Retina Display with ultra-thin bezels.

So that’s the older and smaller machine, but what’s new from Apple? The tech giant has just revealed that a bigger Air will be arriving next week with it featuring a giant 15.3-inch screen that will offer users more space to work and play.

Despite its larger size, Apple has managed to keep the new Air’s weight down with it nowhere near as heavy as the 16-inch MacBook Pro. In fact, the firm says this is the world’s thinnest 15-inch laptop with it also half a pound lighter than a comparable Windows PC laptop.

The MacBook Air 15-inch also features MagSafe charging, two Thunderbolt ports for connecting accessories and up to a 6K external display, along with a 3.5mm headphone jack. for versatile connectivity.

Just like its smaller sibling, users get that M2 chip a 1080p webcam, powerful speakers and numerous colours to choose from including midnight, starlight, space gray, and silver.

It’s out next week with prices starting from £1,399.

As a comparison, the MacBook Pro 14-inch starts from £2,149 and going for the supersized 16-inch model will cost you at least £2,699.
