Apple App Store Enables Payments Via UPI, Net Banking, and RuPay Cards in India
Apple’s App Store has added new payment methods for its users. Traditionally, App Store only supported debit cards and credit cards.
Here’s the new list of payment options for App Store:
- Unified Payments Interface (UPI)
- RuPay cards
- Net banking
- International debit and credit cards
You can set up your preferred payment methods via iOS settings. The process of setting up the payment method is listed below:
- Go to Settings on your iPhone
- Click on your Apple ID and select Payment & Shipping, where you may have to sign in
- Click on Add Payment Method
- Select your preferred payment method
With the new payment methods, you can buy apps and games on App Store as well as manage subscriptions for iCloud, Apple Music, Apple TV+, and Apple Arcade. Apple has recently added Spatial Audio and Lossless Audio in India via Apple Music and Apple TV+ has a growing library of movies and TV shows. Apple users can also subscribe to Apple One, which combines Apple Music, Apple TV+, Apple Arcade, and iCloud subscription. The individual plan of Apple One costs Rs. 195 per month and the family plan of Apple One is priced at Rs. 365 per month.
Apple is expected to unveil a new series of iPhones in September. Although specific details about the 2021 iPhones aren’t revealed yet, rumours suggest that the new iPhones will have a smaller notch, better camera, faster chip, 5G support, improved display, and more.
