Apex Legends Season 17 Arsenal Arrives With Revamped Ranked Update

Apex Legends Season 17 Arsenal is set to arrive with major changes coming to the battle royale’s competitive mode.

The ranked mode is getting a complete overhaul with the upcoming season through a new matchmaking system, scoring system, ranked split removal and much more. Here’s everything new coming with Arsenal’s Ranked Update.

There’s a new matchmaking system on the way called hidden Matchmaking Rating (MMR) by Respawn Entertainment. It will look to team up players based on skill adjustments to account for ‘competitive advantages gained’.

This new system will track your placement in battle royale matches and also your performance in eliminating other teams. This will influence the matchmaking of your battle royale games.

A new scoring system for ranked is coming and it will replace the current Ranked Point (RP) system. The new Ladder Points (LP) system will reward teams with better placements in the battle royale.

There’s also a dynamic bonus system that will revolve around placement objectives during the match.

There will be 3 major types of bonuses available in ranked matches:

  • Elimination Bonuses which you’ll get for eliminating other teams. It also includes assists.
  • Rating Bonuses are awarded when your MMR ‘out performs your Ladder Points’
  • Skill Bonuses are given when your team ‘interacts’ with a stronger opponent or does great in an ‘unfavorable match’.

Earlier, the entry cost for Apex Legends ranked matches used to be dynamic, depending on the rank of a player and it ranged from 0 to 175.

Apex Legends Season 17 will introduce a standard entry cost across all ranked tiers. It will now cost 35 LP to enter a ranked match.

Split Reset has also been removed by Apex Legends developers. There will no ranked reset in between Apex Legends seasons.

Apex Legends Season 17 Arsenal will be live on May 9, 2023.
