Anurag Kashyap’s Film In Ghost Stories Receives A Complaint For A Scene
Over a year later, a complaint has been filed against a scene where the lead dreams of herself feeding on her dead foetus. The complainant said, “The scene is not required for the story, and if the creators wished to add such a scene, there should have been a trigger warning for women who have gone through the trauma of miscarriages.” Following this, the OTT giant said, “As this was a partner-managed production [RSVP Movies and Flying Unicorn Entertainment], we reached out to the production company to share the complaint.”
Ghost Stories was an anthology for four absurd tales that hit a streaming platform in 2020. One of the films in the anthology was directed by Anurag Kashyap and starred Sobhita Dhulipala. Woven around the trauma of a mother who faces a miscarriage, the film had some gory scene to depict her PTSD.
Anurag Kashyap too, expressed his disbelief at the complaint and said, “So it has started… A complaint came to Netflix on Ghost Stories. This is the end,” he said. This has come during the time when new rules and regulations are put on content on digital spaces, putting older films and shows under review once again.
