Antony has told Erik ten Hag he ‘wants Manchester United move’

Ajax winger Antony has reportedly told Erik ten Hag that he is eager for a reunion at Manchester United.

Reports on Tuesday claimed club officials had flown to Amsterdam to begin talks over a potential transfer for the Brazilian. The attacker netted 12 times and assisted 10 more as he lifted the Eredivisie title with Ten Hag last season.

The Manchester Evening News understands he is on the Dutch coach’s wish list alongside Ajax teammate Jurrien Timber, primary target Frenkie de Jong and free agent Christian Eriksen. The new United boss is eager to restock the club’s midfield but also wishes to strengthen his attacking options.

Now, Goal report that Antony has left Ten Hag in no doubt that he wants a move to Old Trafford. They say the 22-year-old is ‘determined’ to rekindle ties with his former manager.

Elsewhere, reports are claiming that Arsenal will attempt to hijack any swoop from United for Adrien Rabiot – who has been linked as an alternative option in their ongoing search for a central midfielder. And it might be Mikel Arteta and the Gunners who hold a trump card when it comes to luring him to the Premier League.

Calciomercato suggest Arsenal could be ready to offer wantaway right-back Hector Bellerin as a straight swap for the Frenchman. Juventus player Rabiot is into the final year of his contract with the Italians.
