Antiques Roadshow took a moment to pay homage to expert Judith Miller on the latest episode of the programme following her death.

Earlier this month, it was confirmed that Miller had died at the age of 71 after suffering from a short illness.

Having appeared on the BBC programme since 2007, she also published several books on antiques and interiors and contributed to newspapers and magazines including BBC Homes and Antiques.

While the episode of Antiques Roadshow that aired on BBC One on Sunday April 30 was an old instalment that first aired in 2022, it featured a newly-added tribute to Miller.

The segment featured various clips of Miller all the way back to her early days on the show.

‘We recently received the sad news that Judith Miller, a member of our expert team, had died,’ a voiceover said in the tribute.

Miller was shown revealing her expertise over a beautiful children’s tea set, which she said dated back to the 18th century.

The voiceover continued: ‘Judith joined the Roadshow in 2007, bringing a vast knowledge of antiques from her publishing career.’

Several people who watched the old episode of Antiques Roadshow as it aired on BBC One praised the tribute that was made in Miller’s honour.

Antiques Roadshow expert Mark Hill tweeted: ‘The tribute to Judith Miller on tonight’s @BBC_ARoadshow was beautiful and moving. A dear friend of mine, she will be missed by so many.’

‘Lovely tribute to Judith Miller , she was one of my favourites,’ a viewer wrote.

Someone else described the tribute as ‘beautiful’, adding: ‘What a wonderful, knowledgeable lady.’

Following Miller’s death, Fiona Bruce expressed how ‘in awe’ she felt when she first made the expert’s acquaintance.

‘When I started on the Antiques Roadshow, I was in awe of the experts – and none more so than Judith,’ the broadcaster said.

‘She was Miller of Miller’s Guides no less, the bible of the antiques world when it came to valuations. Plus, she had authored many other books, too many to list, some of which were already on my bookshelf.

‘But she was always gracious and generous with her knowledge, helpful to me and our whole team. And when our filming day had finished, she was never short of great stories accompanied by a glass of her favourite tipple, Pinot Grigio.

‘She was the doyenne of the antiques world and of our show. Irreplaceable. And hugely missed.’

Antiques Roadshow is available to watch on BBC iPlayer.
