Anti-vaxxers ‘vandalise’ health boss’ home

Anti-vaxxers may have been responsible for an alleged graffiti attack on the home of Western Australia’s chief health officer.

Western Australia’s most senior doctor has allegedly had his home vandalised, with concerns anti-vaxxers may have been responsible.

NCA NewsWire understands threatening messages were allegedly graffitied on the house of chief health officer Andy Robertson.

“A vandalism incident was reported to the WA Police Force on the weekend and this matter is being investigated by police,” a WA Health spokeswoman said in a statement on Tuesday.

WA Police declined to comment on the alleged incident.

Dr Robertson has been providing health advice to the state government during the pandemic, which has led to the toughest Covid-19 measures in the country.

They include mandatory vaccinations for the majority of workforces, proof of vaccination requirements to go almost anywhere from the end of this month, and the hard border with the rest of Australia.

WA is scheduled to reopen its border on February 5 but the state government has not yet revealed what restrictions will be in place when that happens.

Premier Mark McGowan said last week that life would be “very difficult” for anyone who was not vaccinated by the end of January.

On Monday, he indicated masks would at least be around for a long time, and other restrictions were also expected to be in place for years.

The alleged attack on Dr Robertson’s home comes after Mr McGowan was forced to close his Rockingham electorate office in November following alleged death threats aimed at him and his staff.

The Premier was also allegedly bombarded with a series of phone calls and text messages.
