Ant McPartlin insists he’ll return to BGT after fall – but he’s still ‘sore’
Ant McPartlin will carry on like a trouper on Britain’s Got Talent after taking a tumble within minutes of the semi-finals.
The I’m A Celebrity presenter, 47, decked it after joining in with dance troupe Diversity’s special performance exclaiming to co-presenter Declan Donnelly, 48, he had ‘wet himself and farted’.
Judges Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon, and Bruno Tonioli erupted into hysterics after the fall with the two hosts continuing to joke about the blunder throughout the show.
While the Saturday Night Takeaway presenter was seen exiting the ITV studio with a swollen and bruised cheek, he has now confirmed he will return to BGT tonight for its next live show.
On a video shared on their Instagram, Dec was seen stifling giggles as he poked fun at his fan, quipping: ‘Well, did you see that fall? I nearly wet myself and farted at the same time. Let’s see how he is. How are you Ant?’
In mock outrage, Ant replied: ‘I can hear you, shut up! Shut up! I’m resting. I’m resting my back.’
Dec then continued to ask Ant how he was feeling, with him admitting he was a ‘bit sore like.’
He continued: ‘It was all right, I think the adrenaline gets you through it and now it’s a bit like, “Ooh, I think I need a bit of ice on that.”‘
Dec asked: ‘You’re OK? You’re gonna be here tomorrow?
Reassuring BGT fans, Ant confirmed: ‘I’ll be here tomorrow.’
Dec replied: ‘Oh thank God for that, I’m not doing it on my own.’
While Ant will power through the BGT finals, he and Dec recently revealed they would be putting Saturday Night Takeaway on pause for more than two decades.
‘The show takes up such a lot of our year we just feel we need a little bit of a breather and that the show is going to take a little bit of a rest,’ Dec explained on social media.
Britain’s Got Talent continues tonight at 8pm on ITV and ITVX.
