A skit between a “Mini Miss U” contestant and “It’s Showtime” host Vice Ganda brought co-host Anne Curtis to tears.

Acting out a scene with Vice Ganda, who portrayed a friend who feels too nervous and doesn’t want to sing anymore, the seven-year-old Annika Co impressed Curtis and the studio audience with her maturity and compassion during the variety show’s episode on Monday, July 3.

“You’ll get over it. You should get over your fear, and then after you get over your fear, you’ll not be scared of that fear anymore,” Co told Vice Ganda, who in character, said he “can’t breathe.”

After telling Vice Ganda to “calm down” — she even demonstrated breathing in and out — Co suggested a way that might make performing more comfortable for the “frightened” Vice Ganda.

“How about if I go on the stage first and I start singing the first part, and then, if you feel safe to do it, you can come with me,” Co said.

The waterworks turned on for Curtis when the two discussed the fear of not being liked.

“Who cares if the others don’t like you? I like you and everybody else does. What matters is somebody still likes you,” Co told the “Fantastica” star.

Responding to Co, Vice Ganda said: “But who is that person that still likes me even if I am no longer the best? Because people like people when they are the best, but once they learn that they are not the best anymore, they don’t like them.”

To this, Co replied: “You shouldn’t be worrying about if you’ll be the best in the world. You have to be the best version of yourself,” which, again, was applauded by an emotional Curtis and the “madlang people.”

Before Vice Ganda, still in character, decided that he could now sing with Co, he asked her: “Can I borrow strength from you? Can you give me a hug?” And the two embraced.

Commenting on the young girl’s performance, Curtis said, “That was so beautiful.”

When asked by Vice Ganda why she was moved to tears, the “Dyosa” actress — still emotional — shared how the conversation was “so pure.”

“Naiyak ako kasi it was so pure na parang, if everyone could be as kind as this child, ‘di ba wala ng hatred sa mundo, ‘di ba? It was so innocent and pure. So beautiful” Curtis said.

[Translation: “I was moved to tears because it was so pure like, if everyone could be as kind as this child, there wouldn’t be hatred in the world, right?]

The Muntinlupa City representative would eventually win over judges Janice de Belen, Gladys Reyes, and Niño Muhlach, securing that day’s crown.

The “Mini Miss U” segment was brought back by the show last month, and joined the current lineup of segments which includes “Tawag ng Tanghalan” and “Isip Bata.”
