Annabelle Rama reveals Ruffa Gutierrez’s text mate on ‘It’s Showtime’: ‘Sino pa, si Herbert!’

Annabelle Rama has dropped the name “Herbert” while talking about a certain someone who seemed to be keeping her daughter, actress Ruffa Gutierrez, glued to her phone during “It’s Showtime.”

Rama revealed this when she appeared as a guest judge on the noontime show’s “Showtime Sexy Babe” segment with Ruffa and her son, TV host Raymond Gutierrez, as seen on ABS-CBN Entertainment’s YouTube channel yesterday, June 15. Hosts Vice Ganda, Ogie Alcasid and Jhong Hilario asked Rama about her thoughts on Ruffa’s judging skills, which led them to talk about “Herbert.”

“Sometimes, parang wala sa sarili (she seems to zone out),” Rama told the hosts.

“Bakit kaya wala siya sa sarili (Why do you think she zones out)?” Alcasid asked.

“Baka busy sa cellphone (Maybe because she is busy with her cellphone),” Rama answered.

“Sinong kausap? Kasi laging may ka-text, sino sa palagay mo?” Vice Ganda inquired. (Who is she talking to? Because she texts with someone a lot, who do you think it is?)

“Sino pa nga ba? Sino pa, Ruffa?” she said while looking at her daughter. “Kaibigan mo, si Herbert.” (Who else? Who, Ruffa? Your friend, Herbert.)

Vice Ganda, Alcasid and Hilario can be heard screaming in the background, while Ruffa had a surprised look on her face.

“Ma, you’re so… nakakaloka ka (you’re unbelievable),” she told her mother.

While Rama did not state the full name of “Herbert,” it can be recalled that Ruffa was recently linked to former Quezon City mayor and 2022 senatorial candidate Herbert Bautista.

Ruffa and Bautista are yet to confirm or deny whether they are indeed in a relationship, though the actress called Bautista “no. 1 sa puso ko (no. 1 in my heart)” last March.

The actress also earlier said that she was in a “platonic relationship” with a special someone. She did not name a specific individual, though she hinted that he was running for a government post at the time.  /ra
