Animax, the Popular 24-Hour Network for Anime Is Finally Back in India With Reliance JioTV

Anime fans in India couldn’t have received a better gift at the start of 2023, as Animax makes its return to the country for the first time in years.

As spotted by members of the OnlyTech forum, the popular anime live channel was found on the Reliance JioTV app. So far, it’s been noted that the channel is in the testing stages on the popular app, as fans have pointed out the lack of English subtitles for the Japanese-language shows.

If you’re looking to check out the content on Animax, users can currently it through the Reliance JioTV set-top box or the mobile app.

Animax had long been the biggest destination for fans to experience the best anime shows. As mentioned by Anime India, it had been running across cable and DTH providers in the nation as Animax India until 2017, before it was yanked off air.

The channel was available to view on the Sony LIV app, before it was removed off the streaming platform in 2020. Soon after, Animax was bought by KC Global Media, as part of a massive acquisition, which also featured the AXN brand of channels. KC Global Media was founded by former Sony Executives Andy Kaplan and George Chien, and it is likely bringing back Animax India to the masses through Reliance JioTV.

Once news broke about the potential return of Animax India, fans took to social media platforms like Reddit to voice their happiness, as anime has largely seen a downfall on cable and DTH television. And with Animax India in the mix, fans can have anime content all day long at their fingerprints.
