Animated Stickers: iPhone users will soon be able to transform their photos into animated stickers – Times of India

Apple announced the latest version of its iOS operating system — iOS 17 at its annual developer conference WWDC 2023. iOS 17 is now available for developers and the company will roll out the stable update for iPhone users later this year.
Apple talked about various interesting features of iOS 17 at the conference and one such feature is Animated Stickers. With this new feature the Cupertino-based tech giant aims to revamp the sticker experience on iPhones.
Animated Sticker feature
Messages gets significant updates with iOS 17, including an all-new stickers experience with new emoji stickers and the ability to create Live Stickers by lifting subjects from photos. With iOS 17, users will be allowed to use all emojis as stickers in the Messages app. Users can also add effects to Live Stickers that bring them to life, and a new drawer in the keyboard puts all of a user’s stickers in one place for easier access across iOS.
Along with this, Apple is also allowing users to create their own stickers by removing a subject by using a background tool which the company introduced with iOS 16.
How to create animated stickers
In the Photos app, you have the ability to long press on the subject of any image to emphasise it and access an options interface. By selecting the “Add Sticker” option, you can transfer the chosen subject into the sticker interface. In this interface, you can apply various effects or remove them. Some of the available effects include adding a white sticker outline, a “puffy” sticker effect, a glittery effect, and more. Additionally, subjects extracted from Live Photos can be animated if desired.
You will be able to access the newly created stickers from the sticker interface in the Messages app. You just have to tap on the ‘+’ icon to access the animated stickers. You can insert stickers as single images, or add them to messages and photos.
