Angellica Bell shares her ‘key’ tips for good immunity
Angellica Bell started her presenting career over 20 years ago; she has since penned a book, Fantastic Eats!, and won Celebrity MasterChef in 2017. Bell is now a co-presenter of the award-winning financial programme, The Martin Lewis Money Show. Alongside that, the mother-of-two is a regular contributor on The One Show.
With a demanding work schedule, how does the 46-year-old stay fit and healthy?
“It’s important for me to start the day with a healthy and filling breakfast, supporting my energy levels as I power through a busy day,” Bell revealed.
“My go-tos are porridge with flax seeds and berries, or scrambled eggs on toast.
“Both are classics for a reason, and perfect for the colder weather as we move into autumn and winter.”
Bell said: “I aim for around eight to nine hours a night to feel fresh and ready to take on the day.”
Bell could have her exercise regime to thank for a good night’s sleep, according to Dr Macciochi.
“Exercise has a trickle-down effect of helping [Bell to] sleep better,” Dr Macciochi confirmed.
“A prolonged lack of sleep is associated with a lower immune response.”
Thus, Bell’s healthy habits are helping to keep her in tip-top condition.
“Another top tip is to go early, it makes sure I don’t run out of time, while setting me up for the day ahead,” she added.
After her work day is over, Bell makes sure she cooks a “balanced dinner of protein and veg”, stating: “I love sweet potato as it’s so versatile!”
“Sleep is vital for feeling good and supporting immunity, so I aim to head to bed at 7:30pm three times a week,” she said.
“Early I know,” she admitted. “But settling into bed curled up with a good book really works wonders to wind down for a restful night’s sleep.”
