Andrew Marr net worth: The presenter’s impressive fortune after leaving the BBC
Andrew Marr is leaving the BBC and he explained he is “keen to get my own voice back”. But after a long career as a journalist, how much does he have in his bank account?
In 2002, Marr took over as host of BBC Radio 4’s Start the Week Monday morning discussion programme.
Since then, he has presented political documentaries, royal series and radio shows.
According to celebrity website Allfamousbirthday, Andrew Marr has an estimated net worth of £1.1million.
Most of his fortune is attributed to his journalistic career.

In May 2021, the BBC released its financial disclosures in its first staff external events register, which showed Marr earned an annual salary of £400,000.
The journalist defended his whopping salary of £400,000, arguing the figure was actually “coming down” over the years.
In a statement, he said: “In the past I have been offered deals by the BBC’s commercial rivals at a higher rate than the corporation would pay.
“Following the publication of the BBC’s annual report, I can confirm that I’m paid £400,475-a-year.
“It’s less, of course, than the £600,000 I was widely reported to be earning a couple of years ago; or indeed the £3million-a-year [the] Daily Telegraph claimed I was paid.
“As the BBC moves to deal with highly paid employees, my salary has been coming down. I now earn £139,000-a-year less than I did two years ago.”
After 21 years working at the BBC, in November 2021 Andrew Marr announced he was leaving.
He wrote on Twitter: “Personal announcement. After 21 years, I have decided to move on from the BBC.
“l leave behind many happy memories and wonderful colleagues.
“But from the New Year I am moving to Global to write and present political and cultural shows, and to write for newspapers.”
Andrew Marr graduated with a degree in English from Trinity Hall, Cambridge.
He married journalist Jackie Ashley in 1987 and the couple have two daughters and a son.
