Andrew Lloyd Webber’s son Nicholas dead at 43: ‘I am shattered’
Nicholas Lloyd Webber — a Grammy nominee and the son of famed composer Andrew Lloyd Webber — has died. He was 43.
“I am shattered to have to announce that my beloved elder son Nick died a few hours ago in Basingstoke Hospital,” Andrew, 75, said in a statement Saturday to The Post. “His whole family is gathered together and we are all totally bereft. Thank you for all your thoughts during this difficult time.”
The Post has reached out to Nicholas’ representatives for comment.
Nicholas, also known as Nick, entered hospice care earlier this week as his 18-month battle with stomach cancer worsened, his father announced.
At the time, Andrew said his eldest son was dealing with a “bout of pneumonia” due to stomach cancer, calling the illness “ghastly.”
“We’re all here and the family here has gathered around, and it was the right place for us all to be I think,” he said on Instagram on Thursday.
The composer was absent from the opening of his musical “Bad Cinderella” on Broadway to be by his son’s side on Wednesday.
He revealed Nick was “critically ill” with stomach cancer.
Nicholas was best known for his work in the movie “The Last Stop” (2021), “Mr. Invisible” (2013) and the British show “Love, Lies and Records” (2017).
Nicholas is survived by his father, mother Sarah Hugill, spouse Polly Wiltshire, and siblings Imogen, Isabella, Alastair and William.
He married Wiltshire in June 2018.
