Andrea Bocelli shares his Coronation concert performance for The King

Regular collaborators Andrea Bocelli and Sir Bryn Terfel stunned the 20,000-strong audience at the Coronation concert last night with their rendition of You’ll Never Walk Alone

King Charles III and Queen Camilla watched on with a smile as the Italian tenor and Welsh bass-baritone sang their hearts out.

Sir Bryn has had a busy weekend having performed Welsh song Kyrie eleison at the actual Coronation service on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Bocelli famously sang Nessun Dorma at the late Queen’s Platinum Jubilee concert last summer.

The maestro shared how honoured he was to be invited to take part in both.

Bocelli said in a statement prior to the Coronation Concert: “I am grateful for this latest inestimable privilege: to lend my voice to the soundtrack of an event that already promises to be a historic occasion.

“I sang for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II many times in the past, and it is a great honour to be called to perform for the coronation of King Charles III on a day anxiously awaited by the whole world.”

Bocelli added: “My joy is made even greater by the extraordinary selection of artists who will walk the same boards and the chance to perform a duet of the iconic You’ll Never Walk Alone with my dear friend Bryn Terfel.

“This uniting piece is capable of warming the hearts of great crowds, a declaration of love and shared solidarity.”

The Italian tenor was one of a number of stars to perform at the Coronation concert along with Katie Perry, Lionel Richie and Take That.
