A funky three-sided house has just gone on the market in Devon – and it could be yours for £700k.

This triangular property, located on the outskirts of Ashford, Dartmoor, is a former 19th Century weaver’s house – once part of a mill complex.

The house, called Belford Mill Cottage, is a unique four-bedroom home surrounded by stunning countryside, and while it may appear a bit small from the outside, it spreads over four floors.

While finding furniture to fit into this house may be somewhat of a jigsaw puzzle, it is filled with reminders of the building’s past, from its timber frames, wrought iron balustrade, exposed timber beams and timber flooring, to its sash windows.

Wool production was one of the main industries in the Dartmoor area for centuries, and remnants of its past can be found in the louvred shutters that have been preserved and can be found on the top floor of the property.

The property is approached via a long sweeping driveway, past beautiful and impressive pillars.

The ground floor contains the farmhouse-style kitchen and dining room, complete with a wood burner and views of the garden.

A sitting room, guest bedroom and en suite shower room can be found on the first floor.

Moving up to the second floor, there are another two bedrooms and a bathroom, but it’s the third floor that boasts the main master bedroom and en suite, which has been converted from what was the original loft.

The en suite on the third floor is found at the far end of the home and offers picture-perfect views of the garden, woodlands and nature beyond, which is perfect for enjoying while dipping into a warm bath.

The space also includes open landing areas and sash windows.

This one-of-a-kind property is made even better by its tranquil surroundings. The garden includes hidden seating areas, shaped borders and a vast array of plants and shrubs. It’s also home to mature apple trees.

The views are a massive selling point, as they stretch over the wooded valley next to the River Ashburn and even out towards Dartmoor National Park.

Belford Mill Cottage is available with Sawdye & Harris for £700,000.
