Amnesty International has forensically investigated phones. Sarma said, “Amnesty International is infamous for its long history of hatching conspiracies against India’s democratic fabric & its leadership. I strongly condemn this conspiracy and demand a ban on activities of such organisations which are hell bent on defaming & harming our nation.”
The chief minister said, “Just ahead of parliament the whole controversy is aimed at defaming India. Whenever India achieves some milestone there is conspiracy hatched against India. India has vaccinated over 40 Crore people of COVID-19. Every month the country is vaccinating 15 Crore.”
He said, “When parliament is about to discuss the COVID situation, recovery of the economy and the preparation for a third wave of such disruption of proceedings is against national interest. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi claims his phone was hacked, he could have filed an FIR and allowed a forensic test of the phone.”
He added that Amnesty International is known for supporting Left wing terrorism. “They are part of defaming India. This is an international design to defame Prime minister Narendra Modi. Amnesty must be brought to law. In 2013 UPA government in a RTI reply admitted that several phones and email are put under surveillance. This pre-planned conspiracy will be exposed.”
He said that some time back it was an oxygen crisis and toolkit.
Sarma said that COVID-19 scene of Assam is improving. “We are lagging behind the rest of India by four weeks and by next four weeks our scene will further improve.”
Union Home minister Amit Shah will attend the North Eastern council (NEC) council meeting in Shillong on July 23. He will discuss interstate border disputes with North eastern chief ministers.
Assam chief minister will hold a meeting with his Meghalaya counterpart Conrad Sangma on July 23. Sarma will also discuss the border dispute with Arunachal Pradesh chief minister Pema Khandu.
Sarma said that the situation in Assam-Mizoram border is not very conducive. “There is eyeball to eyeball in Hailakandi . The situation is fragile. There has been a meeting by the Home secretary along with chief secretaries of both the states. We are expecting some headway in border talks with Meghalaya and Arunachal.”
Shah will participate in a public programme on July 24 in Assam. Sarma said that the home minister will start the scheme where Rs One lakh will be provided to the next of kin of the deceased in COVID-19. Shah will also lay the foundation stone of the medical college in Tamulpur.
