Amazon: Amazon Web Services may be down for thousands of users – Times of India

Amazon’s cloud-based service — Amazon Web Services — is down for thousands of users on Tuesday, according to outage tracking website Downdetector.com. More than 10,000 users reported issues with accessing the service, according to Downdetector. The website tracks outages by collating status reports from a number of sources including user-submitted errors on its platform. Though the exact number is not available, outage appears to be affecting a larger number of users.
Most users have reported issues with the AWS website, some with AWS console and few have complained of server connection error.
Message on AWS dashboard
AWS dashboard has confirmed the down time. “We are continuing to experience increased error rates and latencies for multiple AWS Services in the US-EAST-1 Region. We have identified the root cause as an issue with AWS Lambda, and are actively working toward resolution. For customers attempting to access the AWS Management Console, we recommend using a region-specific endpoint (such as: https://us-west-2.console.aws.amazon.com). We are actively working on full mitigation and will continue to provide regular updates.”
“We have identified the root cause of the elevated errors invoking AWS Lambda functions, and are actively working to resolve this issue,” says an update timed 12.26 pm PDT on June 13.
For the dashboard status update, the AWS service appears to be down for users in the US.
