Amanda Owen’s son in show move without famous family as he joins Helen Skelton

Amanda Owen’s son Reuben had previously appeared on spin-off show Beyond The Yorkshire Farm with his dad Clive, following the collapse of his parents’ 22-year marriage and their joint TV show.

However, Clive, 68, recently revealed that his son “doesn’t want me on his hands” and it looked like the 19-year-old was interested in appearing without any of his family in tow – which he has now begun to do, in a TV slot with Helen Skelton.

He will be making a special appearance on Channel 5 show Live: Harvest on The Farm, which can be seen every day between Tuesday and Friday this week, boasting his farming expertise.

The exciting news about his debut alongside the likes of 40-year-old Helen was revealed on the show’s official Twitter (X) account today.

“As many of you guessed Dave recruited Reuben Owen to help out with the harvest!” the post began.

“And who’s better than a man who knows his way around a tractor to help Dave get the crops in?” it continued.

“Harvest on the Farm is Live this week Tuesday-Friday at 8pm on @channel5_tv.”

Channel 5 celebrated the return of the “farming faves” on its own Twitter account, joking: “We like to moooooooo-ve it, mooooooo-ve it!” ahead of the launch.

Brand and culture expert Nick Ede had previously predicted Reuben’s move into solo reality television in an interview published on Mail Online.

He’d mused: “Reuben could have his own show as he navigates his life in his early 20s or we could see him popping up on a reality show like I’m a Celeb or Dancing on Ice.”

Although Reuben currently has a girlfriend, Sarah Dow, Nick also predicted that he could appear on TV to look for love in the future.

“He could possibly do a dating show if he splits from his girlfriend like the hit US TV show Farmer Wants a Wife,” he suggested.

Fans have already seen him and Sarah, as well as his best friend Tom and of course dad Clive, in appearances on Beyond The Yorkshire Farm – but Clive confirmed on ITV’s Lorraine that his son plans to go it alone more in the future.

Announcing he was probably “stepping back” from the world of TV, he explained: “It’s been great fun working with [Reuben] because he’s crazy too, so we’ve had a grand time doing it.

“[However], I think I’m stepping back from that now. I think he’s gonna go on on his own, because he doesn’t want me on his hands.

Talking of the future, he added: “I have no plans to do anything in particular, but you never know, someone might be daft enough to ask me.”
