Amanda Owen details pal’s heartbreaking gesture after tragic death

The Yorkshire Shepherdess Amanda Owen is no stranger to the love and loss that comes with owning countless beloved animals on a farm. However, when a friend’s horse suddenly died, the 48-year-old was deeply touched when they came past with a heartwrenching gift for her own horses.

The Channel 5 star took to Twitter this afternoon, with snaps of a hefty load of horse feed, filled with a host of equine delicacies like apples and carrots.

However, her caption revealed a far darker and heartbreaking meaning behind the breakfast.

Amanda shared that a friend’s “old and much loved horse” tragically died earlier in the day.

In the midst of her pal’s grief, he decided to head over to Ravenseat Farm, gifting Amanda the breakfast he had already made for his dearly departed horse just before her death.

JaneRus96694746 agreed, adding: “How very very sad, but kind of him to bring her bucket of what looks like veteran vitality for your horses. May she gallop free over the rainbow bridge.”

Just yesterday, the mum-of-nine had shared some stunning photos of her own horses who are now likely enjoying the delicious snack.

The shepherdess was showing off her stud with “full manes, tails, feather & whiskers” as they stood in a beautiful snow-covered field.

Fans fawned over the “lovely cob tash” and joked that her horse was “rocking that 80s look”, while others had more pressing questions for the Yorkshire resident.

Philpurnell90 questioned: “Are you making any more TV, it’s been a while since the last program was aired.

“I hope the weather is getting better for you all stay safe.”(sic)

Amanda, who shares her nine children with fellow farmer Clive Owen, originally became a household name with her former husband on the show Our Yorkshire Farm.

Since their split, Clive has started his own Channel 5 spin-off show with their son Reuben while Amanda began her own reality series with More4.

However, both Clive and Amanda have been inundated with requests to bring back the original series featuring the entire family of 11.

The Our Yorkshire Farm series lasted for five years and is still Channel 5’s highest-rated factual series.

In June last year, Amanda and Clive revealed they would be seperating after 22 years of marriage, but assured in a statement that they would still work together on the form and co-parent their nine children.
