Amanda Holden cheekily mocks Holly Willoughby’s comeback after Schofield scandal

Amanda Holden has taken a swipe at Holly Willoughby’s comeback statement that she said on yesterday’s show.

The Heart FM presenter, 52, took aim at Holly’s comeback speech while wearing a long white dress which looked strikingly similar to the ITV host’s attire on Monday’s show.

Returning to the show for the first time since Phillip Schofield’s departure following his affair with a younger male colleague, Holly, 42, asked viewers: “Right, deep breath. Firstly, are you OK? I hope so.”

Taking to her Instagram stories today, Amanda shared a video wearing a white jumpsuit and asked her two million followers: “Hello, it is Tuesday. Are you OK?”

With a smile, the Britain’s Got Talent judge went on to talk about her outfit, saying: “I’m wearing this gorgeous white jumpsuit. It’s been in my wardrobe for ages and I’ve been dying to wear it because the weather’s got better and I can.”

Amanda later took another dig at Holly on her radio show with co-host Jamie Theakston, 52.

After he asked her she was feeling, she replied: “I got home, got straight into bed with my dog and cat. I got up, cooked the tea and went back to bed again at 8.

“I did that thing where you wake up at 2 and you have to talk yourself back into going to sleep.”

“I’m OK people, are you?” Amanda replied.

It comes after Holly returned to This Morning after a two-week break and during that time her former co-star, Phillip, continued to make headlines after he admitted he lied to his colleagues about an affair with a young runner.

Holly, who joined This Morning in 2003, addressed viewers, saying: “It feels very strange indeed sitting here without Phil and I imagine that you might have been feeling a lot like I have.

“Shaken, troubled, let down, worried for the wellbeing of people on all sides of what’s been going on and full of questions.

“All of us at This Morning gave our love and support to someone who was not telling the truth, who acted in a way that they themselves felt they had to resign from ITV and step down from a career that they loved. That is a lot to process.”

She added: “It’s equally hard to see the toll it’s taken on their own mental health. I think what unites us all now is a desire to heal for the health and wellbeing of everyone.

“I hope that as we start this new chapter and get back to a place of warmth and magic that the show holds for all of us, we can find strength in each other.

“And from the heart, can I just say thank you for all your kind messages and thank you for being here this morning. Myself, Josie, Dermot, Alison, Craig and every single person that works on this show will continue to work hard every day.”

Holly presented the daytime show alongside ITV regular Josie Gibson.

This Morning airs weekdays on ITV from 10am.
