All the roadworks happening in Greater Manchester this week

Road works can be a pain for all those travelling both in and out of the city.

Below is a comprehensive and helpful guide to all the roadworks across Manchester and in your area, to give you a head start in planning your journey and avoiding pit falls.

This is what to expect over the coming week according to Transport for Greater Manchester.

  • A lane closure will be in place on Bolton Road in Farnworth at the junction of Alfred Street from 4th April – 4th May. The lane closure will be in place weekdays only, the work is being undertaken by BT.

Salford

  • There will be lane closures in place at the following locations for the Trafford Road improvement scheme; Regent Road roundabout, Broadway, Goodiers Drive, Trafford Road and Merchants Quay. The work is taking place until April 2022.

  • Road closure in place eastbound on Eccles New Road, Salford between Weaste Road and Langworthy Road from Monday 4 April until Saturday 30 April, times unspecified. This work is for Metrolink Track replacement.

Stockport

Tameside

  • Two-way signals will be in place on Manchester Road (outside house 255) until 3 June. Work will take place 9.30am to 3.30pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays and from 10pm on Saturdays to 8am on Sundays.
  • Lane closures will be in place on Manchester Road and Manchester Road South in Denton as part of the M60 carriageway resurfacing until Friday 29 April. The work is taking place between 8pm – 5am each day.

  • There are currently no planned major roadworks due to take place in Wigan this week.
