All the new rides & attractions coming to Disney theme parks
THE Disney theme parks are celebrating 100 years of the Walt Disney Company next year – and there are lots of new rides and attractions to get excited about.
Disney World, along with Disneyland California and Disneyland Paris all have new openings planned for 2023.
In March the celebrations for Disney World’s 50th anniversary will come to an end, while the Disneyland Paris 30th anniversary celebrations last until next autumn.
While it’s not clear if any of the specialist attractions will disappear for good, there are a number of other rides, restaurants and hotels opening their doors to visitors – here are some of the best of the bunch.
Disney World – Tron Lightcycle Power Run and Toy Story restaurant
After being under construction for five years, Disney World has announced the opening of a Tron-themed ride for next Spring.
Guests will sit on individual motorcycles and grip a set of handlebars while a pad behind the seat comes down and secures visitors in place as they’re taken on a journey through the Tron films.
Disney World will also have a new Toy Story restaurant called Woody’s Rodeo Roundup BBQ, and The Happily Ever After fireworks are set to make a return too.
Disneyland California – Wondrous Journey show and more Marvel meet and greets
A new night-time show called Wondrous Journey, featuring a brand new song called Start A Wave, will help get the 100th anniversary celebrations underway in the new year.
The Avengers Campus, which opened last year, will also be home to new Marvel characters for guests to meet which will coincide with the release of TV shows on the brand’s streaming service.
And the Jungle Cruise is also set to feature a new storyline with new characters, while Snow White’s Enchanted Wish has been updated.
Disneyland Paris – Tangled attraction and Pixar show
Next year Disneyland Paris will continue its 30th anniversary festivities by opening a new Tangled attraction.
Even though it’s only concept art at the moment, Disney has confirmed that the ride will include wooden boats spinning around lanterns.
The attraction will be situated near the promenade, which will allow guests to access the upcoming Frozen-themed land.
They’ll also be a new show all about Pixar’s most popular characters called: “Pixar: We Belong Together”.
Mickey’s Toontown will be closed until next year due to a huge renovation project.
Meanwhile, a Disney employee has revealed how to do a magical Disney break on a budget.
