All the DWP benefits increasing today – full rates

Chancellor Jeremy Hunt confirmed benefits and payments would rise by 10.1 percent in April 2023, and the changes will kick in today, with the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) taking action. What are the new rates for Universal Credit?

Standard allowance:

  • Single under 25s: £292.11
  • Single people aged 25 or over: £368.74.

Couples

  • Joint claimants both under 25: £458.51
  • Joint claimants, where one or both is 25 or over: £578.82.

Child amounts

  • First child (born before April 6, 2017) – £315.00
  • First child (born on or after April 6, 2017)/second child: £269.58.

What benefits are increasing today?

Other benefits and payments are also set to increase today (April 10) as the Government has implemented a 10.1 percent rise.

  • Disability Living Allowance
  • Employment and Support Allowance
  • Housing Benefit
  • Jobseeker’s Allowance
  • Maternity Allowance
  • Income Support
  • Incapacity Benefit
  • Constant attendance allowance
  • Bereavement Support Payment
  • Widow’s Benefit.

Statutory Sick Pay will also increase today, and the new standard rate is £109.40.
