Pre-arrival Covid tests scrapped

Earlier this month, the pre-arrival Covid test was dropped for Brits entering the country.

Previously, anyone returning to the UK had to pre-book a test before boarding their flight.

This was dropped on February 4.

Day 2 Covid tests scrapped

The biggest change from today is the scrapping of the day two Covid test required from all arrivals.

Previously, anyone entering the UK had to take a lateral flow test either on or before day two, after the requirement for it to be a PCR test was also dropped.

From today, if you are fully vaccinated, you no longer need to take a test at all.

This means if you have had both of your jabs, you don’t need any tests when returning to the UK.

Simplified Passenger Locator Form

While Brits will still need to fill in the Passenger Locator Forms, they are being made much easier.

Previously they required a lot of information from travellers including addresses of where they were staying and proof of Covid tests.

Now, Brits only need to fill in their vaccination status, travel history and contact details.

No quarantining for unvaxxed Brits

Brits who haven’t had both of their jabs yet still have to have pre-arrival and day two Covid tests.

However, you no longer need to quarantine for 10 days on arrival.

There’s more good news for holidaymakers as an increasing number of hotspots are scrapping test requirements – meaning vaccinated Brits can take a trip without needing a single Covid test.
