All iPhone owners can get a free treat to celebrate new Apple movie – here’s how
APPLE is offering a free trial of Apple TV+, in exchange for a few games of Tetris.
It seems to be a bizarre trade-off, but the deal forms part of Apple and PlayStudios’ celebration of the movie Tetris premiering on Apple TV+ on March 31.
The movie tells shows how Tetris came to be one of the most popular games in the world.
Based on a true story, Henk Rogers, played by Taron Egerton, discovers TETRIS in 1988, and risks traveling to the Soviet Union, where he joins forces with inventor Alexey Pajitnov, played by Nikita Efremov, to bring the game to the masses.
iPhone and iPad owners can redeem points while playing daily challenges in the Tetris game on their devices.
Gamers need just 2,000 points for a one-month free trial.
It takes around five short rounds to complete, according to Apple Insider.
However, it should be noted that only Apple TV’s new subscribers can access the offer.
It’s not available for those with Apple One subscriptions.
The freebie is on offer until June 8.
“This is an exciting evolution for Tetris and a ground-breaking advancement for casual mobile gaming as a whole,” said Andrew Pascal, PlayStudios’ CEO.
“Our players earn loyalty points for doing something they love and can use those points for a range of enjoyable travel and leisure activities.
“At the same time, our rewards partners are introduced to passionate consumers,” he continued.
“Everyone wins.”
Tetris is free to download in the App Store on iPhones and iPads running on iOS 11 or iPadOS 11 and later.
