AlienGPT Uses OpenAI Technology to Bring Galactic Civilizations IV: Supernova to Life in Early Access

As we all know, the gaming industry has decided to explore the avenues of Artificial Intelligence. Currently, we see a new iteration of this technological push as Galactic Civilizations IV: Supernova Edition will bring a ChatGPT integration to its Early Access branch to let players create the lore, conversation dialogs, and more aspects behind their civilizations through AI. This technology is dubbed AlienGPT, and it will be available now.

Galactic Civilizations IV: Supernova is a 4X sci-fi strategy game from developer Stardock. For those unfamiliar, the series is essentially Civilization in Space, allowing players to explore the galaxy, meet alien species, colonize planets, research new tech, and more. This new entry in the series introduces several new features and changes compared to Galactic Civilization III which bring it a bit more in line with modern 4X games. These changes include bigger maps, leader characters, story-driven missions, revamped combat, and more.

One of the most technically impressive aspects of this game is the recently introduced AlienGPT tech. This entry in the Galactic Civilization series will now use AI-generated content through OpenAI’s ChatGPT to allow players to create their own civilizations with just a prompt. The game also uses AI to deliver custom graphics for the player’s civilization, allowing them to create their truly own experience in the 24th century.

AlienGPT is also said to be helping Galactic Civilizations IV: Supernova in terms of its replayability. Players can choose several different galaxy setup options, face off against AI-assisted opponents, and also have access to a multi-sector map design alongside other improvements in this entry in the series, such as its multi-sector map design, planetary sieges, new weapon designs, and hundreds of other improvements.
