Aldi removes click and collect service from stores

Aldi’s click and collect service is available across 200 stores, but 12 of those stores will have the service closed down this month. 

A spokesperson for Aldi said there is a low demand from shoppers to use the service, hence the removal. Those stores affected have been contacted about the change, The Sun reported. 

It comes after online food shopping boomed during the pandemic with online the market doubling in size to 15 percent, but as shoppers have returned to stores, the online market has fallen to 12 percent according to industry Kantar figures.

For the other 188 stores still with click and collect, it’s an easy way for customers to shop. 

They simply need to find their nearest branch by using Aldi’s store locator tool and select a pickup slot for the cost of £4.99. 

Once checkout has been completed, they then need to arrive at the location to pick up the items. 

Removing click and collect services from 12 stores is just one of many changes Aldi is making; cheap cases of wine or ordering Specialbuys to the door are also being scrapped from July 10.
