Agriculture and Horticulture deptt Haryana to provide stipend to students – Times of India

Chandigarh: The departments of Agriculture and Horticulture Haryana have decided to implement an Internship Scheme for B.Sc., M.Sc., and Ph.D. students for Agriculture and Horticulture subjects. Under this Internship Scheme, all the students of Chaudhary Charan Singh, Haryana Agricultural University, Hisar, Maharana Pratap Horticulture University, Karnal and Central Institutes situated in Haryana will get an opportunity to do Internship in Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department and Horticulture Department, Haryana.
Sharing the details, Dr Sumita Misra, Additional Chief Secretary, Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department, informed that under this Internship Scheme, students of B.Sc, M.S.c, and Ph.D. degree in the field of Agriculture and Horticulture are included. Apart from this, the trainees will get the opportunity to know about the departmental programmes, methodologies, technologies and will get the opportunity to meet and interact with the farmers. They will also get practical knowledge of agriculture and horticulture crops during the Internship. She said that the students would be able to learn from practical experience through Internship. Dr. Misra further informed that though this Internship is neither a job nor is there any such assurance for jobs in Departments on this basis however, this may prove to be very helpful in the future for the students.
The official spokesperson said that the students can apply online on the website of the Department of Agriculture & farmer Welfare. Further, before joining the Internship Programme, the students must submit a letter from his/her Head of Department/Principal indicating his/her position in the Institution that he/she has no objection in allowing the concerned student for the Internship Program.
Agriculture Department and Horticulture Department will give Internship for 4 to 12 weeks.
