After six years, Alessandra De Rossi, Empoy Marquez team up in new film ‘Walang KaParis’
Alessandra De Rossi and Empoy Marquez, also known as AlEmpoy among fans, are set to titillate their fans anew in “Walang KaParis,” six years after their hit film “Kita Kita.”
The film, which will be released on a popular streaming platform on March 23 of this year, is meant to be a play on the tagalog word “kapares” which means no match, as well as the city of Paris in France.
De Rossi expressed her excitement over working with the comedian for the second time on her personal Instagram page on Friday, March 3.
“Ang pagbabalik ng economy class tandem, na tatalunin ang pa-world class! Walang ganun! Kami na to! We’re back and we’re back to back,” she said in the caption. (The return of the economy class tandem which is set to beat the world class pairings out there! No way! This is us! We’re back and we’re back to back.)
Meanwhile, Marquez joked about the actress feeling “kilig” or giddy around him once again, on his Instagram account.
“Hindi ko alam [k]ung kinikilig ka sakin dahil [crush] mo talaga ako [heart eyes emoji] oh nasisikipan ka sa [d]amit na suot mo,” he wrote. (I’m not sure if you’re feeling giddy just because you have a crush on me, or your clothes feel tight.)
Fellow celebrities including Piolo Pascual, who produced the film, Chynna Ortaleza-Cipriano, Isabel Oli-Prats, Paolo Paraiso, Ebe Dancel, Japoy Lizardo, Kych Minemoto, and Baron Geisler congratulated De Rossi and Marquez on their upcoming film, with some sharing their excitement to see their team-up for the second time.
The romantic film revolves around Paris-based Filipino artist Jojo (Empoy Marquez) who’s desperately trying to search for the mysterious subject who usually appears in his thoughts whenever he paints, according to a release. He soon meets Marie (Alessandra De Rossi) who claims to be the muse he’s looking for. The project is directed by “Kita Kita” director Sigrid Bernardo and is produced by Spring Films and Viva Films.
Reports about the leads’ reunion project first surfaced in 2019, however, “Walang KaParis” became known to the public only after four years.
De Rossi and Marquez first worked together in the 2017 hit movie “Kita Kita,” considered as the highest grossing independent film in the country after earning over P300 million within three weeks. EDV
