Pre-Match Analysis:
Afghanistan created history as they beat Pakistan for the first time in the T20Is. Their bowlers were all over the inexperienced Pakistani batting line-up in the 1st T20I and held them to just 92 runs at the end of 20 overs. They were highly disciplined with the ball and hardly bowled loose deliveries and spinners in particular were remarkable. Chasing the modest total of 92 runs they were reeling at 45 for 4 and later Mohammad Nabi guided them home with run-a-ball 38* runs. Bowling has been their major strength and the batters need to support them. They are just one win away from a famous series win.
Pakistan made an interesting selection in the 1st T20I where they went with 4 debutants leaving out their experienced players Shan Masood, Iftikhar Ahmed, and Mohammad Nawaz. Saim Ayub who opened the innings looked good in his short stay of 17 runs and Ihsanullah showed early promise with his fierce fast bowling display. They would have adapted to the conditions instead their batters went for glory shots which resulted in them settling for a below-par score. They need to show up with the bat in the 2nd T20I to stay alive in the series.
