Meet Kolter, the helpful cowboy who, aged just three, loves to help his dad out on their farm, ride horses and take care of the animals.

Brady Farnsworth, from Altamont, Utah, US, grew up farming with his family and wanted his son Kolter to follow in his footsteps.

Enthusiastic Kolter has been helping out on Brady’s farm for a year already, and can often be seen riding horses.

Brady says there’s nowhere his son would rather be than sitting on horseback in his favourite little cowboy hat.

The father said: ‘Riding the horses is Kolter’s favourite thing to do on the farm, as well as riding on the tractors with us.

‘For a three-year-old boy, he is very skilled at horse riding and even rides them solo, but he loves riding them with me or his mum, Maddi, too.

‘Everyone knows him as the mini cowboy and thinks that he is going to make an excellent cowboy when he is older because he started so young.

‘Kolter loves to help with anything around the ranch.

‘He gives me a helping hand with bringing the cows in, branding, giving medicine to any sick animals, stacking and splitting wood for fires, and hauling hay.

‘He’s always there to help with anything he can.

Brady and his wife have been bringing their son down to the farm since he was a baby, but from the age of two, he was helping out.

‘He loves every minute of it,’ Brady said. ‘He is like a different boy when he is down at the farm compared to when he is at home, it’s amazing to see.

‘It’s like he’s in his own little world.’

Brady always knew he wanted his children brought up in a similar environment to the one he grew up in.

He said: ‘I loved being around all the animals when my parents were bringing me up on their farm – the same way we are doing with Kolter and our 11-month-old daughter, Ari.

‘It teaches you how to work hard. They’ll learn how to do lots of things at such a young age, and it will give them great life experiences.

‘So I wanted my kids to have the same opportunity.

‘It’s awesome seeing Kolter doing what I did as a young boy. I’m so glad raising our kids this way, especially seeing how much Kolter enjoys it.’
