Adele slammed by Noel Gallagher as ‘awful’ as he compares her to Cilla Black
Noel Gallagher has taken aim at superstar Adele.
The Mancunian singer-songwriter, 56, claimed not to be a fan of the singer, who has achieved four number-one albums and hit singles including the chart toppers Someone Like You, Hello and Easy On Me, describing her songs as “offensive”.
When asked if he was a fan of Adele’s music, Noel didn’t hold back: “F***k off, f***ing hell. Name one? They’re f***ing s**t.
“It’s f***ing awful. It’s f***ing Cilla Black. I find it and that whole thing offensive,” he ranted.
The Wonderwall singer, who sold 75 million records with his band Oasis before they broke up in 2009, went on to claim that the only way that Adele could improve would be by performing a song he wrote.
Speaking on the Matt Morgan podcast, he continued: “If I fall out of love with touring, I could see myself just sitting at home writing songs and sending them to my publishers. I might in the future.
“I’ll be saying, ‘Get Adele to sing that. Don’t call until she’s done the guide vocal’.
“I want Lewis Capaldi to murder this song, I want him to s*** on it from a great height. Make me rich’,” he said.
Noel is currently on tour with his band High Flying Birds and is calling into the podcast for a two-hour chat each week.
The news that Noel would be a regular contributor to the broadcast, which is available to Patreon subscribers, was announced to Matt’s 25,000 Instagram followers last week.
Noel has a history of making contentious remarks about other artists.
In April last year he took a swipe at Harry Styles in an interview with the Daily Star.
“The X Factor is a TV show. It’s got nothing to do with music. It’s got nothing to do with music whatsoever and anything that has come from that, that’s got nothing to do with music,” he said.
“You’re not telling me Harry Styles is currently in a room somewhere writing a song. With any joy, he’ll be surrounded by a lot of girls. I can assure you he’s not got an acoustic guitar out trying to write a middle eight for something,” he concluded.
Express.co.uk has contacted Noel and Adele’s representatives for comment.
