Adani Transmission posts 85% rise in consolidated net in Q4

Mumbai: Adani Transmission on Monday reported an 85% growth in consolidated net profit at ‘440 crore for the three months ended March 31. The same stood at ‘237 crore in the year-ago period.

In a regulatory filing, the company said the increase was primarily driven by one-time income of ‘148 crore from regulatory order in the transmission business (a net positive impact of ’21 crore after adjusting for a provision of ‘131 crore (net of tax ‘101 crore) and aided by a mid-term true-up order by the regulator in AEML.

For FY23, profit saw a 4% increase at ‘1,281 crore against ‘1,236 crore in FY22.

During the quarter, consolidated revenue from operations jumped 17% to ‘3,031 crore, as against ‘2,582 crore in the same quarter of last year. Operational earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortisation (Ebitda) was up 28% to ‘1,570 crore.

Revenue for FY23 was up 19% at ‘12,149 crore, as against ‘10,184 crore in FY22.

The board has approved the re-appointment of Anil Sardana as the managing director of the company for a period of five years effective from May 10.

The board has also approved to change the name of the company from Adani Transmission to Adani Energy Solutions, subject to various approvals.”Adani Transmission is well positioned to deliver exponential growth, and we are working towards fulfilling our nation’s massive electricity needs and strengthening our position as a world class utility,” said Gautam Adani, chairman, Adani Group.
