Abhimanyu Dassani rewatched Govinda movies to adapt mannerisms for Nikamma
Abhimanyu Dassani starrer Nikamma has created quite a buzz The upcoming action-comedy film also stars Shirley Setia and Shilpa Shetty Kundra and is scheduled to release on June 3.
Speaking about the upcoming movie, Abhimanyu revealed that he has been preparing himself for the movie by re-watching Govinda films from the ’80s and ’90s. Recently at the trailer launch event of the movie, Abhimanyu revealed that his preparation for the role included rewatching Govinda movies to replicate the style and mannerisms for his character in Nikamma.
Speaking about his role, Abhimanyu said, “The genre of this film is so different from the other genres that I’ve done. I definitely needed a lot of workshops with Sabbir sir, to cater to this character. I watched a lot of commercial cinema. I really enjoyed re-watching a lot of Govinda sir’s films. He’s supremely talented and I enjoyed my afternoons, re-watching his films.”
Dassani’s character in the movie is named Adi, and is a young, jobless, carefree boy who transforms into a responsible person when his family is in trouble.
Abhimanyu Dassani made his debut with the Bollywood movie Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota. He also made his digital debut with the critically acclaimed Meenakshi Sundareshwar. The actor also has the family entertainer Aankh Micholi in the pipelines.
