A small property in Lanarkshire, Scotland, went on sale for a bargain price but its fascinating backstory is what buyers are more interested in.
The 900 square foot property located in Wishaw, is actually the site of a former police station. And it went on the market for an incredible £40,000.
The building is in need of some serious TLC, but for those who love a fixer-upper, it would be a great catch.
While planning permission has not been granted yet, the former station is surrounded by rows of homes meaning it is likely to be approved for residential purposes.
With an open-plan office area, a kitchen, two smaller offices and a toilet, there is room to make some improvements.
Images also show that the property is covered by overgrown weeds, has barricaded windows and a fenced in front garden area.
Its main potential is in its location of Glencairn Avenue, which is well connected via bus and train to West and Central Scotland.
Future Property Auctions states there is ‘potential for renovation of [the] building, conversion to residential property or for purchase as a development site within [the] popular residential location.’

The building is listed on Rightmove as being bought in 2002 for £2,111.
Now Future Property Auctions put the house up for auction on August 27, 2021 where it received a total of 30 bids.
It finally sold for £44,500.
