A ‘Ted Lasso’ star is coming to NYC for one show. Who is it?
“Ted Lasso” is coming stateside.
Well, at least Nick Mohammed aka “Nathan ‘Nate’ Shelley” is for a show at New York City’s Town Hall on Friday, June 2.
Mohammed, 42, will perform as his character Mr. Swallow, a high-pitched motivational speaker who brings math and magic to the stage — nothing like his shy assistant turned (spoiler!) West Ham F.C. head coach in the celebrated Apple TV series.
And if you want to see Mohammed spread his acting wings live, you can grab tickets to see the Emmy-nominated and Screen Actors Guild Award for fairly cheap.
At the time of publication, we found tickets for the one-night-only event going for as low as $55 before fees on Vivid Seats.
Not bad for a show Broadway World called “A brilliant comic creation… you may end up with a pain in your side or sore face muscles from laughing so hard.”
Plus, he may even roller skate.

About Mr. Swallow
What exactly is Mr. Swallow?
Well, according to The Guardian, he’s an “attention-seeking man child.”
In their story, they call the character one of the “best kept secret(s) in comedy with his bumptious, boffin-ish solo shows alternating with stage spectaculars – about Houdini, Dracula and so on.”
His “hilariously overreaching stage shows interposes his gossiping and his ego between great stories and their successful telling.”

Upcoming Nick Mohammed projects
As Mohammed’s star grows, fans will likely start to see him pop up in more and more films and TV series.
Here’s what’s for sure coming up on his slate according to IMDb:
“Maggie Moore(s)” (2023): Mohammed co-stars with Jon Hamm and Tina Fey in John Slattery’s crime thriller that takes place in a quiet town until two women with the same name are both murdered in quick succession. The film is set for release on June 29.
“The Ballad of Renegade Nell” (TBD): According to IMDb, this eight-episode fantasy adventure drama tells the story of Nell Jackson, who was accused of murder. She “finds herself forced to live on plunder and expedients with her two sisters.” Fate has not led her astray though — “she will cross paths with Queen Anne and play a role in the power struggles that are being played out over the European battlefields.”
“Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget” (TBD): Mohammed lends his voice talent to the ongoing animated franchise. In this installment, “Ginger has found a peaceful island sanctuary for the whole flock after having pulled off an escape from Tweedy’s farm.” However, a new threat arises for “chicken-kind” and the team returns for another job. Zachary Levi, Thandiwe Newton, Bella Ramsey, Romesh Ranganathan and Imelda Staunton round out the cast.
