A rural college of Prayagraj gets affiliation of PRSU state university – Times of India

PRAYAGRAJ: Shiv Ganga Degree College, located at Ramnagar Ghansiyari village of the Mauaima block of Prayagraj, has been given affiliation by the Prof Rajendra Singh (Rajju Bhaiya) University, Prayagraj.
Named after the eminent climatologist and former head of the department of Geography, Allahabad University, Prof Shiv Sagar Ojha, the college, located at the rural belt of the district, would come as a boon for the meritorious students living in the rural belt of Mauaima, Soraon and Pratapgarh.
The college would run courses of BA Geography, Economics, Political Science, Sociology, History, Hindi literature, English literature, BSc Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Zoology, Botany and BCom Economics, Business Studies and Accountancy form the current session 2023-24, informed wife of late Prof Ojha, Sita Ojha.
The college was the dream of Prof Ojha but after his demise in July last year due to Corona, his wife laid the foundation stone in February this year and the college was inaugurated early this month, on the occasion of Guru Purnima.
“The college has allotted 35% of seat to aspiring student from Uttarakhand and 15% seat to students coming from Nepal along with 10% seats to displaced Kashmiri pandits to give regional representation & opportunity to youths of commingling with each other”, said Sita Ojha. Scholars and academicians from Tibet and Baluchistan will also be provided an opportunity to share their experiences and vision with students of the college, added Sita Ojha who is also the president of a NGO named Samaj Evam Paryavaran Vikas Sansthan.
Prof Ojha was a harbinger of free education to the masses as he had started a free education channel on YouTube which carries 513 lectures on Geography and subscribed by over 3.5 lakhs users and watched by over 15 crore students, both within and outside the country.
