A new OnePlus is coming next week. Here’s what we know.

OnePlus Nord CE 2 launch teaser

TL;DR

  • OnePlus will launch a new phone in the Nord series on February 17.
  • The 5G device might not be available in all markets at launch.
  • A new chipset and more powerful charging are some of the key upgrades to expect.

OnePlus will announce a new phone next week. No, it’s not the OnePlus 10 Pro going global. It’s the long-rumored OnePlus Nord CE 2.

The company just posted a teaser for a February 17 launch of the phone. The short clip also gives us a glimpse of the device. Take a look below.

It doesn’t seem like OnePlus is ready to take the Nord CE 2 to all markets just yet. We only found the teaser posted on OnePlus’ Indian social media handles and website. The company may announce wider availability for the phone at a later date.

OnePlus Nord CE 2 specs and price

Leaked specs of the OnePlus Nord CE 2 suggest that the phone will come with the MediaTek Dimensity 900 5G SoC. It’s also said to gain a 6.4-inch 90Hz OLED panel, 6GB to 12GB of RAM, 128GB or 256GB of storage, and a 4,500mAh battery with 65W charging. As you can see, the device will get a decent charging upgrade over the previous model which featured only 30W charging.

Elsewhere, the OnePlus Nord CE 2 is tipped to gain a 64MP main camera, an 8MP ultrawide lens, and a 2MP macro camera. A 16MP sensor is expected to handle video calls and selfies.

If you’re expecting an alert slider on this model, you’d be disappointed. However, you should get a 3.5mm headphone jack as compensation for the missing feature.

As far as pricing is concerned, the Nord CE 2 should launch in the ballpark of Rs 24,000 to Rs 28,000 (~$317 to ~$370).
